A fire extinguisher, or extinguisher, is an active fire protection device used to extinguish or control small fires,  often  in  emergency  situations.  It  is  not  intended  for  use  on  an  out-of-control  fire,  such  as  one which has reached the ceiling, endangers the user (i.e., no escape route, smoke, explosion hazard, etc.), or otherwise requires the expertise of a fire department Typically,  a  fire  extinguisher  consists  of  a  hand-held  cylindrical  pressure  vessel  containing  an agent which can be discharged to extinguish a fire. In the United States, fire extinguishers in all buildings  other  than  houses  are  generally  required  to  be  serviced  and  inspected  by  a  Fire Protection service company at least annually. Some jurisdictions require more frequent service for  fire  extinguishers.  The  servicer  places  a  tag  on  the  extinguisher  to  indicate  the  type  of service performed (annual inspection, recharge, and new fire extinguisher). 




Fire Hydrant System



Fire Fighting Hydrant Systems are the most commonly used systems, inmany  residential  and  industrial  projects.  If  you  have  ever  seen  a  “Red”color pipe, circulating around a building or factory, you have seen a FireHydrant Pipe. In most news clippings about a fire, you can see a firemanshooting water up to 8stories high or more, that fire man is using the FireHydrant System. Such is the power of the Fire Hydrant System that watercan be shot right up to 8 floor, directly into the fire.IS  IT  ALWAYS  NECESSARY  TO  PROVIDE  FIRE  PROTECTION  WITH  FIRE  HYDRANTSYSTEMS?Fire  Hydrant  Systems  forms  the  basis,  of  Fire  Protection  Systems,without Fire Hydrant System a Fire Protection System cannot be called aFire  Protection  System.  It  will  be  a  superficial  system.  (With  respect  tolarge  areas,  in  general).  Fire  Hydrant  System  installation  is  relativelyeasy.HOW DO FIRE HYDRANT SYSTEMS FUNCTION?A special well is dug, called "Fire Well", where water is stored throughoutthe  year  for  365days.  This  water  well  is  connected  to  the  pump  room.From  the  pump  room,  there  are  two  to  three  main  pipes.  These  pipesform a network of pipe that cover the factory compound and the factory.The  pump  has  the  work,  to  continuously  filling  all  the  pipes  connectedwith water under pressure. The pressure is nearly 7bar to 10bar.


Gas SuppressionSystem

Fire  Protection  Gas  Suppression  System  or simply  called  as  Automatic  Fire  Suppression  System  (or  Gas Suppression System), is relatively a new technology in India. Unlike conventional system that use water, in Gas Based Fire  Suppression System; water is never used and yet  the fire is extinguished. Here Gas is used to extinguish the fire. Hence it is a Gas Based system. The fire gets extinguished, within a minute of activation and everything is automatic.

 

 IS IT ALWAYS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION WITH GAS SUPPRESSION SYSTEM? OR WHY GO FOR A GAS SUPPRESSION SYSTEM? Absolutely not  in certain areas like Server Systems, Art Galleries or near delicate  machinery, water can cause  more  and  permanent  damage  than  the  fire.  In  the  Server  Room,  the  data  in  the  server  is  more costly  than  the  server  itself.  If  the  art  piece  or  data  gets  damaged  or  lost;  it  would  result  in  an immeasurable loss. HOW DO GAS SUPPRESSION SYSTEM FUNCTION? Gas Suppression Systems are generally used in concealed rooms. The principle used by Gas Suppression System  is  by  breaking  the  Fire  Triangle,  the  fire  ceases  to  exist.  In  the  room,  protected  by  Gas Suppression  System,  there  are  various  detectors  placed  at  various  locations.  Each  detector  constantly monitors the room for signs of fire. As soon as fire is detected, an alarm is sounded, to the personnel to evacuate  the  entire  room.  Then,  the  gas  like,  Novec,  Clean  Agent  or  Co2  is  released  in the  enclosed room. Thus, the oxygen in the room is rapidly reduced, to a level where fire cannot exist. However, living organisms  remain  unharmed,  because  of  the  gas.  Because  of  such  a  system,  all  the  delicate or  critical items remain untouched and unharmed by fire or water.  There are generally, two principles used in Gas Suppression System



System Kitchen Suppression



1. Quick & Easy installation directly above high-risk cooking areas: The  flexible  sensor  tubing  is  easily  installed  directly  inside  the  extractor  hood  -  directly  above cooking area.When in service, the tubing is pressurized with dry nitrogen to 16 bar. The dynamics of pressurization make the tubing more reactive to heat. 2. Early fire detection: If a flame-up occurs, the heat of the fire causes the  pressurized sensor tube to burst at the hottest spot (approx. 175°C)3. Instant suppression: The  sudden  tube  depressurization  actuates  the  special  pressure  Differential  valve  and  instantly floods  the  cooking  area  with  Class  F  Extinguishing  agent.  The  fire  is  quickly  suppressed just moments after it began... minimizing damage and downti
