 Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University’s (BVDU) College of Architecture is an institute dedicated to provide quality professional education in the field of Architecture. We impart to our students the knowledge and specific skills necessary to lead successful lives and to grow into positions of influence and leadership in their profession.








In the past two decades the College has contributed to the field architecture by preparing several students to become successful professionals, as well as with faculty research and community involvement. A large proportion of more than 700 undergraduate and more than 100 post-graduate are successful professionals, and a significant number have also pursued higher degree research.


The college is one of the oldest and largest of the Engineering colleges in Maharashtra. The College has been recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). More importantly, seven undergraduate programmes conducted by the college have been accredited and reaccredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Many annual surveys rank this college among top engineering colleges in the country. Its over 250 linkages with industry ensures excellent placement for the students. It also offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes. It has started a unique Master programme in Nanotechnology which is being conducted in association with the Joint School of Nano-science and Nano-engineering (JSSN), NCAT, USA. The college has the distinction of being selected as one of the top 25 colleges for TEQUIP-II programme, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi, and has been supported with a grant of 4 crore rupees from the World bank.  


Programs And Courses


BVDU College of Architecture offers two programs, an undergraduate degree in Architecture and a post-graduate degree in Sustainable Architecture. Both programs are semester based and begin in the summer semester (June/July). Admission window opens in the month March every year and application materials are made available to the desired applicants at this time.

The college revises the course structure and syllabus periodically to accommodate changes in the field as per COA’s guidelines. Inputs from core faculty, visiting faculty, practitioners and academicians are taken alongwith the feedback received from students and alumni, to revise syllabus. The College introduced a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for M. Arch. in 2014-15. For undergraduate program the syllabus was revised to include CBCS in 2015 and is being implemented beginning in the summer semester 2015.


The admission processes are governed by the guidelines of Council of Architecture, New Delhi (COA) and the University.


Bachelor of Architecture:

Bachelor of Architecture course is offered since 1994 and had produced many successful batches for years. Many of our graduates are placed with many eminent architectural firms in India and abroad and many are practicing as successful consultants. Along with academics students get an environment to excel in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Bachelor of Architecture course is recognized by Council of Architecture vide notification No.CA/5/Academic/MH19, dated 17/02/2009 and AICTE notification No.740-89-017(A) ET99 Dated 30/06/2008.Course structure has been revised in academic year 2009 as per COA’s guidelines.The degree is awarded as Bachelor of Architecture after successful completion of five years of study as per the guidelines of Council of Architecture, New Delhi.


Master of Architecture:

Architecture, which is the most demanding of the contemporary disciplines, has both an obvious artistic component and also less obvious, but not less essential, scientific component. Our responsibility to improve the quality of life also beacons us to develop scientific and mathematically based methods of design of Thermal, Luminous, Acoustic and Aqueous environments. The Energy and Environmental issues have brought a new dimension to this process.

Master of Architecture course was introduced in 2006 as an outcome of years studies in the field of energy conservation. This unique course deals with various analysis techniques for climate responsive architecture.

 MIT Academy of Engineering (MITAOE), Alandi, Pune, was established in 1999 under MAEER by the honorable Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, Founder and Executive President of MIT Group. The institute offers seven UG programs (B.Tech) and three PG programs (M.Tech). Recently, the UGC has honored the institute with ‘Academic Autonomy’ considering the quality of pedagogical practices, research, faculty and the state-of-the-art infrastructure that meets global standards.


The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has honored the institute with the ‘Best Engineering College (Professional Courses) award. The institute has made its mark by excelling in academics and research and it continues to grow as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in engineering education and research. MITAOE AS AN AUTONOMOUS INSTITUTE

MITAOE is only the third institute in Pune which has been bestowed with ‘academic autonomy’ by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Academic autonomy is granted only to those institutes that are accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade and are also accredited by NBA for all programs. Besides, the institute should also have the 2(F) & 12(B) status of the UGC. This exemplifies that the ‘academic autonomy’ is awarded only to the best institutes. Only those institutes that persistently excel in every aspect of quality education are bestowed with autonomy. Under autonomous status an institute remains affiliated to the University but gets freedom to design the advanced & industry-oriented syllabi, decide the modes of instruction & evaluation, and conduct examination and assessment of papers. The Electrical Engineering Department is contributing to this need by producing trained technology leaders Department of Electrical Engineering came into existence in the year 2011 with intake of 60 students. The department provides opportunities to the students to work in state of the art laboratories like basic electrical engineering, electrical machines, power system protection, high voltage engineering, plc & microprocessor, control systems and industrial drives.


All the laboratories are equipped with most modern equipment's and instruments. The department also provides facility for computer simulation and virtual experimentation with the latest updated software like MATLAB, Auto CAD-Electrical, PSIM, etc. The final year students are provided all infrastructural facilities needed to carry out their projects to explore the advanced technological boom.


The department has strong interaction with industry leaders to understand future challenges as well as expectations of the industry by organizing Expert talks, Seminars, Colloquium and Workshops. The Bachelor of Engineering Program in Electronics and Telecommunication has commenced from the academic year 2014-15. The curre


nt student intake capacity is 60. The department is consisting of 03 class rooms and 09 well-equipped laboratories in the department. The Electronics and Telecommunication department is having online access to top journals through J-GATE. The department is having latest software’s needed as per the academic curriculum. One practical batch is limited to 15 students and students are encouraged to perform practicals individually. For each experiment a group of maximum 02 students performs the practical.
